ACCESS TO FINANCE WORKSHOP DELIVERY REQUIREMENT

MAXIMUM VALUE: £15,000 DURATION: Ends April2011

CLOSING DATE: Monday 10th October 2011

Canary Wharf Limited is working in partnership with Tower Hamlets College on the shared delivery of the London 2007-13 European Regional Development Fund Programme (Priority 2, Theme 1, Access to Finance) project known as ‘Access to Finance for Growth’ which runs until April 2012.

We are currently seeking specialist presenters with a proven record in the finance industry or a record of business growth to provide workshops and one to one support on a range of topics to support Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with complex finance needs to help them gain access to commercial finance facilities and improve their ability to pitch for finance for the execution of their business growth plans.

Workshops

Typically workshops would be for a half to one day to serve as a platform for more in depth activity to develop a tailored funding proposition. Topics to cover (which must directly and specifically link to accessing finance) include:

  • business planning;
  • financial planning;
  • sales and marketing strategic planning
  • management of cash flow; profit and loss; accounting/book keeping; and relevant HR issues; and
  • pitch preparation and presentation skills to raise finance.

One to One Support
Workshop activity will sometimes be supplemented by one to one support to help SMEs with more individual needs.

In order to ensure that they comply with A2F requirements all facilitators will be required to submit the following;

  • A written proposal with cost break down
  • Their CV and profile detailing their relevant experience to deliver on the subject requested
  • A signed agreement (provided on application)
Selection Criteria

  • experience of working with business owners and SMEs
  • Appropriate professional competence in the field of business finance
  • experience in delivering similar events
  • examples of what tools and techniques if any will be used to make the session(s) more engaging
  • insurance cover (professional indemnity and public liability)

Award Criteria

  • Value for money: cost and value added to the Access to Finance programme, not necessarily the lowest price (60%)
  • Suitability, knowledge and experience in the field (30%)
  • Availability (10%)
