The Prime Coffee Company Ltd. is a speciality coffee operator that has evolved steadily with a growing client base of businesses across London. Formed in 2000 with the express intention of bringing the finest quality coffee beverages directly into the workplace the company was created by Ernie O. Mathews.

Ernie noticed a gap between the quality coffee and tea beverages available at the time, and what the busy corporate clients were demanding for their staff and important visitors. The Prime Coffee Company Ltd. has remained purely focused on delivering the highest quality products and services within different working environments.

The company’s core business is the supply of freshly roasted coffee beans together with Espresso and Cappuccino machines to office clients, all fully branded and with the proud motto, ‘the best gourmet coffee experience for the office environment’.

After a meeting with Gay Harrington and registering on the database, Ernie was referred to Canary Wharf Ltd. to tender for a contract opportunity. They were at the time sourcing a supplier to provide coffee services to various departments within their offices.

Prime Coffee were successful in securing this contract and now provide a range of coffee and machines on three floors within the building.

To continue to add value to Prime Coffee Company Ltd, the Local Business Liaison Office put Ernie forward to participate in the BP mentoring scheme through East London Business Alliance in 2007–08.

His mentor helped Ernie to take time out from his busy business to discuss longer term business strategy and improve business planning processes.
